Pokemon: Best Wishes! - Review

At First Look - 3 Episodes
Once again, another season of Pokemon. This one is still about Ash and Pikachu. However, it appears to be based off of the new Black & White games. In this season, Ash travels with Professor Oak and his Mom to a new location. Where he meets a new Professor and gets to see the new starter Pokemon (Which I personally think look retarded). The starters are still Grass, Water, & Fire types. Ash & Pikachu encounter one of the Legendary Pokemon right in the first episode and it's attacks cause Pikachu to be unable to preform Lightning attacks. Not only that, but they introduced a new rival who acts just like Gary. Starting to see something familiar? How about this then? Ash randomly forgets how to catch wild Pokemon and has to be reminded by a girl who has a bad attitude. Of course Team Rocket's Jessie & James are back. New outfits and slightly smarter then before. However, they're still obsessed with catching Pikachu and fail every time. It looks like the creators tried going back to the first season. Everything has been reset. Ash doesn't even have any of his old Pokemon, except for Pikachu. Both of them have to relearn everything. On the upside, the battle's are really awesome. They did an excellent job showing each of the moves and actually limiting each Pokemon to only 4 moves each. Just like in the games. I was pretty dissapointed that Ash still hasn't aged at all, but so far this season hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Ignoring the huge amount of time he spent traveling, you could actually have this take place after the 2nd season or even after he recieved Pikachu. I think I'll continue watching this and see where it goes. I just hope it's not another 100+ episode season.
